Texas Wesleyan University began the renovation of their Central Power Plant (CPP). When completed, the renovation will save TWU 5.9 million kilowatt hours per year and $377,000 annually on utility costs. TWU will effectively generate its own energy using a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system, or co-generation system.
